Senior Backend Engineer @ MAKA

Overview:

We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems that power our cutting-edge products and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in backend development, architecture design, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to define and implement features
• Optimize performance and reliability of backend services
• Identify and address technical debt and architectural improvements
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 7+ years of experience as a backend developer, with at least 3 years of experience with JavaScript: Node.js, NestJS

• Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to Have:

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
