Overview:

Konga Nigeria, a leading e-commerce and fintech company in Nigeria, is seeking a skilled Legal Officer to join our dynamic team. As a Legal Officer specialized in fintech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, mitigating legal risks, and supporting the company’s fintech initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented legal professional to contribute to the growth and success of Konga’s fintech operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance and support to the fintech department on regulatory compliance matters, including licensing, data protection, and consumer protection laws.
  • Review and draft legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to fintech operations, partnerships, and transactions.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments affecting fintech in Nigeria.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks associated with new products, services, and initiatives, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage legal disputes, litigation, and regulatory inquiries related to fintech activities.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on legal compliance and risk management for fintech team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution; additional qualifications in fintech or related fields preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on fintech, regulatory compliance, or financial services.
  • Sound knowledge of Nigerian laws and regulations governing fintech, including but not limited to banking, payments, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of effectively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Membership in the Nigerian Bar Association or relevant professional bodies is an advantage.
