Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth and Innovation
- Develop and implement business development strategies.
- Create energy solutions and pricing models.
- Drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion targets.
Customer Acquisition and Revenue Expansion
- Lead acquisition of Maximum Demand (MD) customers.
- Manage prospecting, proposals, negotiations, and onboarding.
- Maintain long-term client relationships.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships
- Build partnerships with IPPs, regulators, and private sector stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations for bilateral agreements.
- Represent the company at industry events.
Market Intelligence
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis.
- Apply data insights to guide decisions.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct due diligence and risk assessments.
Digital and Operational Excellence
- Use CRM tools for pipeline tracking and reporting.
- Improve digital processes within the function.
Leadership
- Manage and develop the business development team.
- Promote accountability and innovation.
Sustainability Focus
- Drive clean energy solutions such as solar and hybrid systems.
- Support environmentally responsible business growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- 10–15 years of experience in business development within power, energy, utilities, telecoms, or infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and energy markets.
- Proven experience in commercial negotiations and partnerships.
