Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Account Officer to support the company’s accounting and financial operations.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, performing reconciliations, monitoring receivables, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records.
  • Process invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare periodic financial and management reports.
  • Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Support budgeting and financial reporting activities.
  • Assist with tax, pension, and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and company policies.
  • Assist the Head of Accounts with other accounting and financial management activities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • ACA, ACCA, or ICAN certification is mandatory.
  • 2–5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in a microfinance institution, financial services company, or related sector will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
